arsis logoARSIS, which is active since 1992, has great experience on supporting children and youth in danger and defending their rights in Greece. It has developed its experience during the refugee crisis in Greece, focusing on child protection of vulnerable groups such as children at risk, separated and unaccompanied minors.

The main goal of ARSIS is the application of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, the social protection of individuals who are socially disadvantaged and exposed to social exclusion and marginalization. Its work is supported by national, European and other grants, a large network of volunteers, sponsorships from socially responsible enterprises, institutions and charities.

ARSIS collaborates with public services and Non-Governmental Organizations from Greece and Europe.

It embraces the University of Bologna’s heritage in political and social science scholarship and teaching and collects these fields in a wider, new unit.

The DSPS has played a key role in determining University of Bologna’s success in 2017 QS World University Rankings: Politics and International Affairs (Top 100); Social Policy (Top 100; Sociology (top 150), Communication, Cultural and Media Studies (Top 150). Recently, the DSPS has also won the “excellence department” award by the Ministry of Education. MEDITER values the strategic role of human resources in linking cultures, knowledge and skills. It aims, in addition, to stimulate sociocultural exchange between the countries bordering the Mediterranean by relying on the common cultural heritage.

It reinforces the construction of a regional identity, maintains a dialectic relationship between Europe and the Mediterranean, by collaborating with all the cultures of the Mediterranean region, towards openness and international exchange. In this context, MEDITER acts to promote the development of cooperation relations between the countries bordering the Mediterranean with the conviction that such relations represent a priority objective for the development of a common horizon of civilization.

For this reason, MEDITER solicits the membership of local authorities, non-governmental organizations, foundations, universities, small and medium sized enterprises and non-for-profit organizations in general, whether local or international.

The network’s goal is to develop democracy, respect of human rights and solidarity in the Euro-Mediterranean region. The rich interculturalism of this network allows the promotion of citizen engagement.
